A voice for the non-religious in Swindon

“Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it.” ― Christopher Hitchens

Monthly Meetings

Our September meeting will be a social get together on Wednesday 23rd September, 8.00pm at The Sun Inn at Coate Water. Looking forward to seeing everyone – if you are a new member or haven’t been to a meeting before, please come along and say hello!

We look to alternate between social meet ups, book club style chats about selected books, discussion groups, speaker events and film showings. We will be updating this page on a regular basis as new events for later in the year are arranged.

I would like to become a supporter. When is your next meeting?

Hi Jon, that would be great – our next meeting is March 20th at 7.30pm where we will be watching a Christopher Hitchens documentary film. Hope you can make it!

Very sad news about David Nobbs and it has inspired me to investigate a little bit more. When is the next meeting in Swindon as the above is a little out of date. Thursday 20th at the Wheatsheaf would be my best bet but confirmation would be good…

If you would like an event about the poet Shelley and the role humanist beliefs played in his work please contact me. Have been showing it to Humanist groups round the country and a review can be found here: http://selondon.humanist.org.uk/review-shelley-a-humanist-out-of-time/ Am a committee member of Oxford Humanists.
